THE WISCONSIN 57

In May, a "breeder"/hoarder here in WI surrendered their 61 dogs to animal control. 57 of the dogs were Italian Greyhounds. Of these dogs, some were blind, some were heartworm positive, and all of them were badly in need of loving, training, and a life outside of the (recently condemned) house that they had never been outside of. Two of the oldest dogs, who were both blind and in pretty rough shape, were adopted right away by a couple of wonderful rescue folks who got them the vet care they so desperately needed.

Mary from Massachusetts had some of her wonderful rescue folks fly out to WI, where they rented a vehicle, and drove a large group of these pups back east to waiting foster homes. Another group was taken by the remarkable, inexhaustable group led by Kim in Indiana.

Many of them are still here in WI, in dedicated foster homes, where they are finally learning to be "real" dogs. Those things we all expect a dog to know are new to them - having a name, walking on a leash, going up and down stairs, playing with toys, house training, etc. One thing that they DO know is that cuddling is GREAT!

Soon, after many hours of work, the pups here in WI will be ready for adoption. While none of them are ready for a home yet, you can apply to adopt, and we will hold your app until they are ready.

Some of the dogs that will soon be ready for new homes are listed below:
MOCHA One year old male - sweet and playful!
MOJO 4 month old male -learning new things every day!
BEANIE BABY 1 1/2 year old female - the tiniest IG ever! Her pal is a Chihuahua!
REGGIE 1 year old male - A really fun guy!
