Midwest IG Rescue is based in Wisconsin, but we are part of the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation. We only handle adopters in the following Midwest States: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. If you are in another state, you can find your area Italian Greyhound rescue’s contact on the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation’s website.
We are a group of volunteers committed to finding homes for dogs in need, offering assistance to those that have the breed, and providing education about pet stores/puppy mills. Our volunteers have been helping area Italian Greyhounds in need for over 30 years! We get dogs in our program of all ages. The dogs looking for homes usually do not have health or behavioral problems. If a dog has any health or behavioral problems, we disclose them. Most dogs come into our program through no fault of their own. They come in because people didn’t do their research on the breed or didn’t take the commitment of having a pet seriously.
Our adoption fees vary by region and the dog’s age. The Italian Greyhound Rescue Fund is maintained by the IGRF Treasurer and all donations are payable to IGRF. The IGRF Rescue fund is comprised of donations by IGCA members, those interested in the well-being of the breed, and adoption donations. IGCA Rescue reserves the right to refuse any adoption.
